Site Process Expert, EUSC Process Excellence

This role is available at both Level 4 and Level 5. If your experience aligns with Level 4, we encourage you to apply for that position.

Amazon is seeking Site Process Experts to join the EU Process Excellence (EUSC PE) team. This onsite role requires flexibility to work in shifts, depending on operational needs. The positions are based at various Sortation Centers (SC) across the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, and France.

The EU PE team comprises operational leaders focused on process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement across the EU SC network. The team aims to establish best-in-class process performance, accelerate technological advancements, and enhance the technical and process knowledge of operational leaders.

The team works to control processes and improve performance consistency across shifts, regions, and regions, collaborating closely with Core Process Experts, Change Managers, Operations, Ops Excellence, Program teams, Engineering, and RME teams to optimize process metrics.

The Site Process Expert collaborates with SC senior leadership and EU PE functions to deploy initiatives, build networks, and ensure compliance within set timelines. The role involves initiating and executing EU-wide improvement activities, demonstrating ownership, understanding initiatives in detail, and influencing outcomes to achieve tangible productivity and efficiency gains.

As part of this role, you will learn Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, progressing towards Green/Yellow Belt certification.

Key responsibilities
  1. Identify top improvement opportunities through Back to Basics initiatives, focusing on bottom 50% processes and implementing action plans with local Operations Management.
  2. Oversee the SC improvement program, prioritize areas with leadership alignment, analyze process performance, and convert insights into actionable plans.
  3. Review open Action Plans weekly, engage stakeholders, and ensure completion of suggested actions.
  4. Collaborate with CPE, CM, and other Site PEs for process clarification and benchmarking to reduce variation.
  5. Drive continuous improvement by implementing network best practices and capturing innovative ideas through a standardized process.
  6. Join daily Gemba walks to stay aligned with top issues and feedback, building strong relationships with site leadership.
  7. Support operational tasks as needed, including site management during Q4, and travel domestically or regionally as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in English and local language (C1 level)
  • Experience in Amazon Operations or similar roles such as Area Manager
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
  • Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement practices
  • Excellent communication and detail orientation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and influence senior stakeholders
