Job Description:

Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team. The Site Process Engineer is an onsite position.

The EU PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement for the EU Customer Fulfilment Network. This team aims to establish best-in-class process performance across various processes, accelerate technological advancements, and strengthen technical and process knowledge among operational leaders.

The team focuses on process control and performance consistency to minimize variation and deliver strong results. It collaborates closely with Process System Engineering (PSE), ACES PM, Central Ops, launch teams, operations engineering, and RME teams to improve process input metrics by prioritizing resources.

The Site Process Engineer works alongside the FC Senior Leadership Team, maintaining high collaboration with EU PE functions. Responsibilities include deploying initiatives, building networks within the FC, and ensuring compliance with timelines. This role involves initiating and executing EU-wide improvement activities, demonstrating ownership, understanding initiatives in detail, and influencing outcomes to achieve productivity and efficiency gains.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Work on Back to Basics (B2B) initiatives by identifying top opportunities in the FC, focusing on the bottom 50% processes, and implementing improvement plans in collaboration with local Operations Management.
  2. Oversee the FC improvement program, focusing on key areas aligned with FC leadership, analyzing process performance, and converting insights into actionable plans.
  3. Review open Action Plans weekly, engaging stakeholders to complete suggested actions and meet targets.
  4. Collaborate with central PE functions and regional Site PEs for process clarification and benchmarking initiatives to reduce variation.
  5. Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices, capturing FC innovations, and integrating significant projects into the Operating Plan.
  6. Ensure deployment and compliance of all EU network initiatives within the FC, supporting test and pilot phases to prevent delays and ensure successful deployment across EU FCs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in English and German (C1 level)
  • Experience in Operations as Area Manager or equivalent
  • Technical knowledge of at least one Fulfillment process path (Quriosity silver/gold certification)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
  • Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and detail orientation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and motivate teams
  • Partnership with FC Ops including participation in daily Gemba, weekly meetings, and building relationships with site leadership
  • Willingness to support or lead EU Projects, expanding scope and managing multiple FCs
  • Deployment to site management teams as needed, with travel estimated at 0-10%
