Siemens Energy is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join the on-site team in Germany. You will commission electrical components and systems, collaborate with international project teams, and help ensure the reliability and quality of our energy solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc/MSc) and have experience with high-/low-voltage or DC systems, protection systems, and start-up equipment. International assignments will be required.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc/MSc) or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
• Qualification as an electrically skilled person according to EN 50110 is preferred.
• Experience commissioning high-/low-voltage or DC systems and protection systems is advantageous.

• Perform hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems, including transformers, high- and low-voltage systems, DC systems, protection systems, frequency converters, and excitation equipment.
• Carry out initial and repeat testing of electrical protection and control systems and support system optimization and troubleshooting.
• Commission electrical control systems and associated Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI).
• Analyze and resolve technical issues during commissioning activities to ensure reliable system operation.
• Collaborate closely with international project teams, customers, and engineering functions throughout on-site assignments.
• Share lessons learned and on-site experience with engineering teams to support continuous improvement of products and commissioning processes.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As part of our Electrical Commissioning Group, you will work on international project assignments and contribute directly to the successful commissioning of Siemens Energy’s scope on large-scale energy projects. These include state-of-the-art low-emission power plants, Grid Stabilizing Systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Working as part of a multinational team on site, you will commission individual electrical components as well as complete systems and help ensure the quality and reliable operation of our solutions. By sharing your on-site experience with our engineering teams, you will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and services.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Perform hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems, including transformers, high- and low-voltage systems, DC systems, protection systems, frequency converters, and excitation equipment

What You Bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc/MSc), preferably with a focus on power engineering, or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience in the electrical engineering field
• Qualification as an electrically skilled person according to EN 50110
• Relevant experience in the commissioning of high-/low-voltage or DC systems, electrical protection systems (e.g. SIPROTEC or comparable), start-up frequency converters, or excitation equipment is an advantage
• Confident use of MS Office applications and a valid Class B driving license (Germany)
• High flexibility and willingness to undertake international assignments, typically lasting between 2 and 12 months
• Independent and quality-oriented working style, combined with strong teamwork, adaptability, decision-making skills, and the ability to take responsibility in an international environment
