Overall Job Purpose

This role involves collaborating with global and site-specific communications teams, HR, and leadership to develop and execute site-wide communication campaigns for internal and external audiences. The Site Communications Lead will support setting communication objectives, develop strategic plans with measurable outcomes, and provide counsel to leaders. The role also includes developing operational guidelines and managing community outreach and stakeholder engagement, adapting strategies to evolving site needs within Lilly’s network.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership and HR to define communication goals and strategies, including global recruitment, marketing, and branding.
• Decide on tactical execution, including editorial planning and storytelling across multiple channels, coordinating with external agencies.
• Lead internal communication campaigns and employee engagement initiatives to foster culture and support site startup.
• Manage communication for site events such as celebrations, recognition, and leadership town halls.
• Develop strategies to enhance the site leader’s visibility and engagement, in partnership with external communications teams.
• Review and update site branding for consistency and impact.
• Establish metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness and track progress.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure adherence to communication procedures and guidelines.
• Leverage resources and best practices for strategic communication execution in Alzey.
• Develop community and academic outreach materials, fostering partnerships with educational and community organizations.
• Support partnerships with educational institutions for internships and apprenticeships aligned with workforce development.
• On-site presence required.

Basic Qualifications

• Fluent in German and proficient in English.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and oral communication skills capable of conveying complex information clearly.
• Strong strategic thinking, creativity, and influence skills, especially in leadership communication and issues management.
• Ability to build relationships across the organization to achieve business goals.
• Experience managing projects, schedules, and budgets effectively.
• Persuasive and influential communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to handle multiple projects across channels and sites.
• Analytical skills to interpret qualitative and quantitative data for stakeholder insights.
