The Hoxton, Charlottenburg in Berlin is seeking a Shift Engineer to join our hands-on engineering team. You will ensure smooth technical operations across the hotel, perform minor repairs, and maintain all installations to a high standard, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Fluent German and English are required; prior experience as a maintenance technician or shift engineer is advantageous, and you’ll work flexible shifts including weekends, with opportunities to grow within the group.

• Ensure that the hotel’s technical operations run smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis.
• Carry out minor repairs and troubleshoot technical issues across all areas of the hotel with accuracy and care.
• Operate, maintain, and document all technical installations and equipment, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
• Inspect and maintain safety and fire protection systems, making sure all regulatory and safety standards are met.
• Perform painting, repair, and general maintenance tasks to preserve the hotel’s facilities at a high standard.
• Coordinate material and supply requirements with departments operations to ensure smooth workflow.
• Take ownership of the hotel’s technical infrastructure – from heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to plumbing and electrical installations – keeping everything running safely and reliably.

Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.

What we're looking for...

• Completed vocational training in a relevant field (Electrical, Plumbing, Building Services, or a related trade)
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Shift Engineer, Electrician, or in a similar role is an advantage
• Fluent in both German and English (any additional language is a plus)
• Solid technical knowledge and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving
• Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and varying working hours
• Confident in carrying out general maintenance tasks and minor repairs
• A proactive team player who can also work independently
