Our Downstream Chemicals team, through its knowledge and expertise, improves chemical technologies and processes to ensure the safety and reliability of hydrocarbon processing in its customers' refineries and industrial plants.

Our Baker Hughes downstream chemicals team is a key supplier to the refining and petrochemical industry worldwide. To support the expansion of the business in the (South) Germany region, we are looking to strengthen our team with a Service Sales Engineer role. You will provide support and consultancy services for our client refinery engineers on-site related to Baker Hughes product line in Germany.

As a Service Sales Engineer (d/f/m), you will focus on meeting and exceeding our customer’s expectations while seeking new business opportunities to further drive growth at sustainable financial performance.

As a Service Sales Engineer (d/f/m), you will be responsible for:

  1. Ensuring sustainable relationships and financial returns and identifying and exploiting new opportunities with new and existing clients.
  2. Identifying and pursuing new opportunities with new and existing customers in Germany.
  3. Managing the chemical supply chain, stockpiling, sampling, testing, analyzing and processing, reporting, as appropriate.
  4. Maintaining and strengthening relationships with our customers, and being the interface with relevant functions and services.
  5. Coordinating laboratory work scopes, providing technical assistance to support customer accounts.
  6. Taking ownership for the HSE of the project and ensuring full compliance with all company standards.
  7. Maintaining, developing and reporting improvement programs and managing tenders, technical requests, projects, and chemical tests.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  1. Have successfully completed your studies in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience in a similar environment.
  2. Have experience in working in chemical production and/or oil refineries as well as in a laboratory environment.
  3. Have experience of working with HSE and QA standards and practices, knowledge of HSE and general responsibilities within a chemical environment.
  4. Have knowledge of various chemical testing methods, industrial processes, and quality standards required within a chemical environment.
  5. Have the ability to manage technical projects, chemical trials as well as chemical supplies.
  6. Have experience in supporting customer accounts and coordinating industrial activities, scheduling, and forecasting.
  7. Be experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and hold a driver license.
  8. Have excellent communication skills, be fluent in English and German, and demonstrate a deep interest in working in a diverse environment.
