Company Description

We are REPA Deutschland GmbH, part of the REPA Group - Europe's leading distributor of spare parts for the catering industry, commercial kitchens, refrigeration technology and more. With over 95,000 items from more than 2,000 manufacturers, we offer the largest range on the market. Our 6 warehouses in Europe, 9 locations and over 1,000 employees guarantee fast and reliable service. Our affiliation with Parts Town, the American market leader in high-tech spare parts distribution, gives us even more power. Together we ensure that everything runs smoothly - whether it's a coffee machine, refrigerator or combi-steamer.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Server and Client Patching Specialist (m/f/d) to ensure the security, stability, and performance of our IT infrastructure. This role is critical in safeguarding our systems against vulnerabilities by managing and implementing patching processes for both servers and client devices. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a secure IT environment.

Job Description

  • Patch Management: Plan, schedule, and execute regular patching of servers (Windows, Linux, etc.) and client devices; timely application of security updates, bug fixes, and software upgrades across the organization.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Monitor compliance with patching policies and address non-compliant systems. Generate detailed reports on patching status, success rates, and outstanding vulnerabilities. Document patching activities and maintain records for audit purposes.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Analyze patches for potential impacts on the IT environment and mitigate risks before deployment. Conduct compatibility testing in staging environments prior to rolling out patches to production systems.
  • Change Management Planning and Communication: Develop and implement change management plans for patching activities, including risk assessments and contingency planning. Communicate patching schedules, potential impacts, and downtime windows to stakeholders and ensure alignment with organizational change management policies and obtain necessary approvals before implementation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with internal IT teams and stakeholders to minimize disruptions during patch deployment. Provide clear communication to users about scheduled updates and potential impacts.
  • Incident Management: Investigate and resolve patch-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and user disruption. Support the IT team during security incidents by applying emergency patches or fixes as required.
  • Automation and Tools: Leverage patch management tools (SCCM, WSUS, Baramundi, inTune) to streamline patch deployment. Identify opportunities to automate processes for greater efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of server and client patching processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in patch management tools and system administration (Windows, Linux, macOS). Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks. Knowledge of IT security principles and practices, including vulnerability management.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Security+, or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • Experience with ITIL practices and incident management workflows.

Working Conditions:

  • Availability to perform patching activities during off-peak hours or weekends as necessary.
  • May involve occasional on-call duties to address urgent patch-related issues.

Join our team to play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of our IT systems. If you thrive in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment and have a passion for ensuring robust IT infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you!
