Automotive Engineering Lab (AEL) teams are rapidly expanding, focusing on advanced automotive technologies across multiple domains.

(m/f/d) We are seeking a skilled and experienced candidate in the UX/UI team for the intelligent cockpit system, enhancing HMI aesthetics, emotional design, and usability.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of visualization and experience in GUI and physical product appearance design. Your role involves collaborating with UX/interaction designers to create innovative interactions with outstanding visual impressions. You will work on future trends in vehicle HMI design, AI UX, and product innovations in vehicle intelligent cockpits.

Your mission

• Discover and define design opportunities in AI-enabled in-car HMI systems, balancing aesthetics, usability, emotional design, and brand identity.
• Develop visual directions for AI-GUI, physical touchpoints, and evolve in-car HMI visual language.
• Deliver high-quality design concepts individually or by leading a small team, including UI visualizations, physical product appearance designs, 2D & 3D motion graphics, storytelling demos/videos, and presentation documents.
• Collaborate with the UX organization and R&D teams at HQ.
• Mentor junior designers as a senior team member.

Your areas of expertise/experience

• Master’s or higher degree in UX/UI design, multimedia, industrial design, or related fields.
• At least 6 years of experience in automotive GUI design.
• Experience in robot appearance design, CGI, digital arts, or industrial design is advantageous.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality visualization designs on real products or pre-development programs.
• Proficiency in tools like Figma, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Rhino, Keyshot, Blender/Cinema 4D, PowerPoint.
• Experience with generative AI tools for design is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Enthusiastic about working in an international team with fluent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to China about 20% of the time.
