Automotive Engineering Lab (AEL) teams are rapidly growing and focused on advanced automotive technologies in multiple domains.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced candidate in UXUI Team for intelligent cockpit system, handling and advancing user experiences for AI empowered conversational features.

The ideal candidate will have deep understanding and experience in both automotive digital interface design (GUI) and voice interaction/conversational UI designs (VUI/CUI) in user centric approach, including information and content definitions, front-end system UI interactions, and UI designs. Your role in a multidisciplinary team requires collaboration with our global UX organization and development community. Your will be working on future trends of vehicle HMI design, AI UX, and product innovations in Vehicle Intelligent Cockpit.

Your mission

• To discover and define UXUI opportunities in AI-enabled in-car HMI system, in perspectives of user values, technology trends and competitor analysis.
• To incubate innovative UX features and definitions, be the user experience ambassador to push ideas through R&D process, to inspire and/or convince multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• To convert technical frameworks into implementable user experience and enhancing interface usability.
• To deliver high-quality design concepts individually or leading a small team, including high-level and/or detailed user flows, wireframes, UI prototypes, storytelling demos/videos, and presentation documents.
• To collaborate with the UX organization and product R&D teams in HQ.
• Be a senior in the team to mentor younger designers.

Your areas of expertise/experience

• Master’s or higher degree in UXUI design, HMI/HCI design, product design, multimedia design or other equivalent design disciplines or experience.
• 6+ years of experience in Automotive HMI design or consumer products user interface design.
• Project experience of Voice interaction or AI related user interface design, with understanding of AI technology trendy capabilities.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating proven UX and UI design on real products or pre-development programs with clear logics on problem-solving approach.
• Proficiency in UXUI design tools e.g. Figma, video prototyping tools e.g. AE, and/or interactive demo tools e.g. ProtoPie, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in building interactive demo and user-testing is preferred.
• Experience of generative AI tools for design creation or process is preferred.
• Strong communication capabilities, and strong documenting skills for capturing dynamic information.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to make the planned deliverables happen under pressure.
• Enthusiastic to work as part of our international team and fluent communication skills in English, Mandarin is an advantage.
• Willing to travel to China (about 20% of time).
