Job Opportunity: (Senior) Underwriter Industry Practices – Real Estate (m/w/d)

Location: Munich, Germany (also available in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg)

For our Business Division "Industry Practices - Real Estate & Hotels," we are seeking a (Senior) Underwriter in Industry Practices – Real Estate, to start as soon as possible.

Your responsibilities include comprehensive, independent underwriting in the Industry Practices – Real Estate sector for our German and multinational clients within your signing authority. The focus is on companies in the real estate industry (Commercial Real Estate) as well as on the sectors of property, liability, and terrorism insurance.

In this role, you will assess risks and develop appropriate solutions. You will be an active, shaping, reliable, and committed partner in negotiations with brokers and clients.

Your Tasks:

• Review and evaluate tender documents
• Assess coverage concepts and develop alternatives
• Conduct risk analysis and pricing
• Prepare legally binding offers
• Negotiate contracts with brokers and clients
• Manage and develop the existing client portfolio
• Support product development projects
• Assist with product and company presentations to brokers and clients, including training
• Review and negotiate policy terms and conditions
• Provide technical support to sales colleagues
• Collaborate with internal departments and divisions (Operations, Claims, Finance, Sales)

Qualifications:

• Completed studies or training with an insurance technical background
• At least 3 years of experience in Property Underwriting
• Familiarity with managing Real Estate clients
• Knowledge of liability and terrorism insurance is desirable
• Experience in international insurance business is advantageous
• Excellent German and English language skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• High reliability and quick comprehension
• Strong analytical and business thinking skills
• Numerical affinity
• Willingness to travel
