Senior Performance Engineer
Education & Experience:
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Motorsport, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in performance engineering in Formula E, F1, WEC, or similar high-level motorsport categories.
- Strong expertise in vehicle dynamics, tire behavior, and control systems.
- Proven trackside experience, collaborating with race engineers and drivers to fine-tune vehicle performance.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Wintax, Atlas).
- Experience with lap time simulation tools and simulator environments.
- Strong capabilities in MATLAB and other engineering analysis tools.
- Knowledge of measurement technology and telemetry applications.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide performance engineers and optimize collaboration.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills—able to work efficiently with teams at the track and remotely.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for continuous performance optimization.
- Time flexibility and willingness to travel advantageous but not necessary.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team.
Your mission
Senior Performance Engineer
- Lead and mentor the Performance Engineering team, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement across remote and trackside operations.
- Oversee performance analysis strategies and reporting, ensuring timely and insightful data delivery to Race Engineers and Drivers.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Race Engineers and Drivers to extract maximum vehicle performance and refine race strategies.
- Lead the calibration and optimization of vehicle dynamics and performance-related on-car systems.
- Direct race car setup and performance optimization, leveraging expertise in vehicle dynamics and data-driven decision-making.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators, ensuring actionable insights for race strategy and car development.
- Develop and refine advanced performance software tools, enhancing real-time data analysis and lap-time simulation capabilities.
- Lead efforts in validating and improving simulation and simulator models, ensuring seamless correlation with real-world track and test data.
- Provide leadership in technical reporting, delivering strategic recommendations on car setup, tire strategies, and long-term vehicle development.
- Spearhead the advancement of simulator technologies, ensuring cutting-edge correlation and development methodologies.
