Founded in 1885 and family-owned ever since, Boehringer Ingelheim takes a long-term perspective. Now, we are powered by 52,000 employees globally who nurture a diverse, collaborative, and inclusive culture. We believe that talented and ambitious people who are passionate about innovation can achieve great things.

The Position

Seize the unique opportunity to grow and advance our leadership in equine innovation, leveraging your expertise in equine disease management.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping a customer-centric, innovative portfolio roadmap, collaborating with internal and external experts to establish scientific leadership. If you're passionate about bringing innovations to our equine customers and improving the lives of horses and those who care for them, you'll thrive in defining the technical and strategic direction of our brands, working closely with our Equine Franchise Managers.

  1. You will be responsible for developing the technical positioning of the brands and scientifically launching plans, as well as co-creating the Equine Integrated Portfolio Plan.
  2. You will develop and lead technical lifecycle management (LCM), trials, post-marketing authorization data for the brand, and support the development of the brand strategy.
  3. You will support the creation of Development Product Profiles for pipeline products and contribute to updating existing Target Product Profiles of in-line portfolio brands in collaboration with the Senior Pipeline Manager and Franchise Managers.
  4. Your leadership skills will help foster collaboration with other functions (e.g., GI, GS GCB, BD&L) on brand-related topics, in close cooperation with the Senior Pipeline Manager and Franchise Managers.
  5. You will champion education, training, and management on technical aspects for local technical teams, external KEEs, and key accounts, especially during new product launches.
  6. You will liaise with ROPU/OPU, internal PV, and authorities regarding technical or PV-related topics.
  7. You will monitor and evaluate the success of the scientific brand strategy and manage stakeholder communications internally and externally.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent qualification
  • Several years of practical veterinary expertise in managing and preventing equine diseases
  • Full understanding of therapies for the equine species, economic considerations, and industry needs
  • Scientific training and experience in trial design, analysis, and interpretation
  • Basic marketing skills and understanding of business concepts and go-to-market strategies
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills with internal stakeholders, KEEs, vet customers, key accounts, and horse owners
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of operating effectively at all levels
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages such as German or French are a plus
