Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Senior Technical Project Manager (m/f/d) for our Data Centre team in Berlin. The role oversees pre-construction, construction, commissioning and close-out phases of hyperscale data center projects onsite for a global technology client.

You will lead the design process, coordinate stakeholders, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Fluent English and German are required; full-time on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have several years of project management experience in a Data Centre or similar technical environment.
• Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure – HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire project lifecycle from design to construction to commissioning and close-out.
• Develop working relationships and drive projects to successful completion.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors and authorities to meet requirements and resolve issues.
• Manage the design process to meet client requirements and expectations.
• Review plans, schedules and costs; identify risks and mitigation measures.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental standards compliance.
• Coordinate vendor scope with overall project delivery.
• Prepare regular reports on progress, budget, and risk to stakeholders.

In this role, you willoversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a hyperscale, state of the art data center project for a global technology client onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire project lifecycle, from design to construction to commissioning, ensuring that the project is completed within budget, on time, and to the required quality standards as the key client interface
• Developworking relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure that project requirements are met and any issues are resolved
• Managethe design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations
• Reviewproject plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc.
• Ensure that all aspects of the project, including safety, quality, and environmental standards, are in compliance with industry regulations and standards
• Co-ordinating vendor scope with overall project delivery
• Working closely with project teamsto ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents
• Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, including progress updates, budget status, and risk management

Requirements:

• University degree in a Constructiona related field.
• Several years project management experience,gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment.
• Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure – HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS.
• A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
• Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
• Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client.
• Fluent English and German language skills are a must.
• Availability for fulltime on-site work.
