The role
As a passionate, self-directed Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for delivering value by helping digitize processes for insurance companies and internal users. This involves understanding their pain points and how our products and services address them. You will define a clear vision for your internal and external audiences based on the current environment and future goals, working with engineering to realize this vision.
Responsibilities:
- Define the vision, concept, and roadmap for insurance APIs aligned with company goals.
- Future-proof the current API landscape by identifying opportunities for new APIs and enhancements to existing ones.
- Develop an understanding of the insurance API market and strategically position the Xempus product.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, including insurance carriers, brokers, third-party Independent Software Vendors, and internal teams to gather product requirements.
- Work closely with engineering and business teams to create scalable, secure, and developer-friendly APIs for seamless integration across platforms.
- Contribute to the overall product strategy as an active member of the Product team at Xempus.
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years focused on API products.
- Strong understanding of API design principles, with hands-on experience using tools like Postman, Swagger, and OpenAPI.
- Understanding of insurance processes such as policy issuance, underwriting, and premium calculations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance industry standards, e.g., BiPRO, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks like GDPR is a plus.
- A track record of delivering value to customers.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and German.
