Who we are

We are Xempus, Germany's leading independent Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for managing and distributing pension, life, and health insurance. Our mission is to make these insurances digital, understandable, efficient, and accessible for everyone. Since 2007, we have been driving the digitalization of the insurance industry. At Xempus, we believe that together we can make a difference—whether from our offices or from home. Join us to create a more secure future for all!

The role

As a passionate, self-directed technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for delivering value by helping to digitalize processes for insurance companies and internal users. This involves understanding their pain points and how our products address them. You will define a clear vision for your audience based on the current environment and target state, working with engineering to implement this.

Responsibilities:
  • Define the vision, concept, and roadmap for insurance APIs aligned with company goals.
  • Futureproof the current API landscape, identifying opportunities for new APIs and enhancements.
  • Develop an understanding of the insurance API market and strategic positioning of Xempus products.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, including insurance carriers, brokers, third-party ISVs, and internal teams to gather product requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and business teams to create scalable, secure, and developer-friendly APIs for seamless integration.
  • Contribute to the overall Product strategy as an active member of the Product team at Xempus.

What we are looking for
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years focused on API products.
  • Strong understanding of API design principles, with hands-on experience using tools like Postman, Swagger, and OpenAPI.
  • Understanding of insurance processes such as policy issuance, underwriting, and premium calculations is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance industry standards, e.g., BiPRO, is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks like GDPR is a plus.
  • A track record of delivering value to customers.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and German.

Why Xempus
  • Join one of Europe's leading insurtech companies as it enters its next growth phase.
  • Enjoy creative freedom and quick decision-making in a dynamic, innovative environment.
  • Participate in one of the most generous employee stock option programs in the industry.
  • Benefit from a very attractive contribution to the company pension scheme.
  • Access corporate health insurance with €600 reimbursement annually for medical and pharmacy costs.
  • Work with a great team with a strong team spirit (company parties, charity events, etc.).
  • Benefit from hybrid working options for flexibility and family friendliness.
  • Access a broad range of personal and professional development opportunities, including an annual training budget, free courses, and transparent career paths.
  • Enjoy various health benefits such as bike leasing and EGYMWellpass.
  • Work in modern offices in a central location with free drinks and fruit.
  • Option to take unpaid extra holidays in addition to the standard 30 days per year.
