Job summary

Try&Hire is seeking a Senior System Engineer to design and implement SCADA systems for high- and medium-voltage substations, taking technical project responsibility from concept to commissioning with hands-on design and testing duties.

You will work on IEC 61850/60870-5, Modbus, DNP and OPC configurations, develop architectures, and support FAT, commissioning and customer training across challenging environments, primarily in Switzerland and nearby regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Power/Automation engineering
• Minimum 5 years in power automation, substation automation, SCADA or RTU
• Strong knowledge of industrial protocols, networks and cybersecurity
• Experience with IEC 61850-based systems integration
• Experience in FAT, commissioning and customer training
• English fluent; German a plus but not required

• Execute system, integration and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
• Support commissioning and service interventions at customer sites, mainly in Switzerland
• Advise customers on automation and communication solutions and own technical project scope
• Prepare technical specifications, test documentation and training manuals

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation Engineering or comparable
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power automation, substation automation, SCADA or RTU systems
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, network architectures and cybersecurity in critical infrastructure
• Experience with IEC 61850-based systems and integration of protection, control and automation systems
• Experience in technical project coordination, FAT, commissioning and customer training
• Excellent written and spoken English; German is an advantage but not required
