Job Description

LaBella is currently hiring for a Senior Structural Engineer in our Potsdam, NY office. The Structures Discipline provides structural engineering services with emphasis on new design, repair, and rehabilitation of constructed works, as well as investigation and performance evaluation. The individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a Lead Engineer supervising a team of structural engineers, designers, and technicians in producing structural construction documents including drawings, specifications, bidding, and construction administration for large complex projects, including calculation and document reviews.
2. Develop cost-effective system layouts, perform calculations, and coordinate with other disciplines.
3. Conduct site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions.
4. Prepare technical specifications.
5. Review and evaluate shop drawings and product submittals.
6. Visit construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed.
7. Manage project budgets, including hours and resources.
8. Maintain client relationships.
9. Prepare engineering reports.
10. Complete complex and specialty types of design.
11. Stay updated on technical advancements in the field and share information with team members.
12. Collaborate with regional managers on workload management and assist in preparing business proposals for new projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the consulting engineering industry.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• New York State PE license.
• Revit experience is a plus.
• Experience with computer analysis software and project history in design is essential.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $120,000. The specific salary offered may vary based on experience, education, and work location.
