Your main tasks

• Procurement of site specific requirements as allocated e.g.CapEx, MRO, services and materials
• Analysis and good knowledge of the local procurement market for goods and services in terms of supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends and cost drivers
• Identify supply risk and execute risk mitigation strategies; drive supplier development and initiate supplier quality improvements
• Supplier management, including developing and maintaining an effective supplier assessment program
• achieve cost reductions and avoidances, create cash flow improvements and lead time reductions
• Establish key supplier agreements, delivering innovative improvements and maintain supplier relationships
• Participation in or lead of regional and global procurement projects
• Collaboration with local and global teams and suppliers to support the development and implementation of strategies
• Optimization of total costs of the German sites including the development and implementation of cost saving programs
• Development, implementation and maintenance of procurement plans and best practices
• Independently negotiating and drafting individual and framework contracts and awarding them
• Identifying and assessing risks and benefits of procurement decisions and clearly presenting proposals to mitigate risks
• Contributing to the annual budget processby providing reliable cost exclusions and realistic forecasts

Your profile

• Successfully completed studies or alternatively commercial vocational training and many years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing
• Many years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally in an internationally operating production company
• Very good experience in supplier and contract management
• Good knowledge of SAP (MM) and MS Office
• Very good knowledge of German and English
• Team player who enjoys working with direct and indirect colleagues
• Experience in cross-functional projects
• Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach to work
• Very good negotiation and communication skills at all levels
