Jobbeschreibung

About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED is the central team supporting all Business Unit Design and Development teams, along with organizations such as Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Test. OED manages process technology and PDK development for both Internal and External Foundry processes. The team, comprising highly qualified members (mostly MS / PhD), excels in Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management. Their contributions drive aggressive NPI strategies and continual improvements in cost and gross margin.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Foundry Technical Manager will lead benchmarking efforts across Probe / Final Test yield, Quality, Cost optimization, Change control, and NPI initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive end-to-end fab processing expertise, including a deep understanding of fab modules, design/process interactions, and cross-functional collaboration within Renesas (Design, Yield Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, Reliability, Supply Chain, Sourcing) to achieve Foundry performance excellence.

  • Benchmark and drive industry-leading Probe / Final test yields by collaborating with foundry yield teams and cross-functional groups.
  • Address Quality issues within the fab and escalate concerns for downstream monitoring.
  • Manage foundry QTR (Quarterly Technical Review) and provide feedback for QBR (Quarterly Business Review).
  • Lead root cause analysis for Quality excursions and Customer RMAs, partnering with Foundry Quality and cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and monitor excursions closely.
  • Execute NPI projects by collaborating with Foundry Technology to ensure proper DRC checks and process waivers, and provide feedback on design/process marginalities (DFM). Lead fab transfer projects to ensure quality, yield, and process benchmarks.
  • Manage change control processes by assessing, qualifying, and rolling over process changes in partnership with Foundry Quality and cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as an expert Foundry process leader with comprehensive knowledge across process modules, driving continuous improvements in Quality, Cost, and Cycle time. Hands-on experience in bringing new technology/products to benchmark process performance is essential.
  • Other responsibilities include partnering with Supply Chain and cross-functional teams to ensure quality is maintained, working effectively in fast-paced environments, minimizing foundry scrap, and demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience in Semiconductors (Fab Integration Engineering, Technology Development).
