Job summary

smart Europe GmbH is seeking a senior IT procurement professional in Germany to lead sourcing, contracting and license management across Europe. You will work in a multinational setting, shape IT category strategies, and drive cost and quality improvements.

Responsibilities include risk analysis, supplier relationship management, and alignment of sourcing roadmaps with business partners. Fluency in English and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in Economics, Management, Information Technology, or a comparable field.
• Minimum 5+ years in IT purchasing or a similar role.
• Familiar with purchase-to-pay processes and contract management.
• Experience in multinational/multicultural projects and vendor audits is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP MM and Ariba is advantageous.

• Monitor IT project progress and analyze supply and vendor risks.
• Lead IT sourcing and ordering in a multicultural team to ensure on-time delivery.
• Resolve IT supply chain issues and manage supplier relationships in Europe.

• Lead sourcing of IT products and services in Europe for business and operations.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Represent procurement in relevant IT projects.
• Support Head of Procurement in developing IT procurement strategy with business partners.

Your responsibilities

• You follow IT project progress and analyse relative supply and vendor risks
• Within a multicultural team, you lead IT sourcing and ordering according to business requirements and ensure delivery on time
• You assist in resolving main IT supply chain and vendor constraint issues and manage supplier relationships in Europe
• You will have the responsibility to analyse IT market trends, anticipate potential risks and develop alternative solutions
• With your great supporting attitude, you take care of the contract and license management of IT products and services
• You lead sourcing of IT products and services in Europe, mainly for business and operational purposes, and manage supplier relationships for all IT-related categories
• You ensure communication and compliance of relevant laws, regulations and guidelines
• You ensure Procurement representations in relevant IT projects
• You support the Head of Procurement in developing and implementing smart Europe GmbH's IT Procurement strategies together with the business partners, including the continuous screening of IT supplier markets, alignment of sourcing roadmaps with business, analysis of cost positions with price plausibility tools, development and implementation of ideas to improve cost and / or quality, timeline and innovation

What you bring along

• You have a university degree in Economics, Management, Information Technology, or a comparable field
• You have 5+ years of experience in IT purchasing or a comparable role
• You are familiar with the purchase to pay process
• You have working experience in multinational / multicultural projects
• You have experience in IT category management or vendor audits preferred
• You have IT-knowledge (MS Office + SAP MM module)
• You have legal knowledge (commercial law, software licensing, product liability)
• You have the ability to understand technical details of relevant IT commodities and services
• You have knowledge of other procurement solutions (e.g., Ariba) which is advantageous
• You have a proven track record of excellent negotiation results
• You have strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking
• You have strong business acumen to quickly understand and act effectively in complex business scenarios
• You are proficient in English at negotiation level both in writing and verbally. Other languages are a plus
