Senior Software QA Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Tasks

In our team, you ensure the further development of our primary software solution for the financial settlement of energy and commodity trades. You process transaction data from the exchanges in the front and back end, create and operate interfaces to our own and external systems via messaging or web services and create reports for various stakeholders. You take a domain-driven approach and work closely with the specialist departments to understand their needs and develop efficient software solutions for them. In your role as Software QA Engineer you are required to communicate, interact and actively participate in the delivery team.

• Your responsibilities include ensuring software quality through preventive measures and continuous improvement of processes in close collaboration with the team.
• You will identify, document and track bugs, create the associated QA-documentation and work with developers to fix them.
• As the main point of contact for quality assurance issues within the team, you will regularly coordinate with the product owner and developers to ensure that test requirements are met.
• You ensure consistent and intuitive user experience and seek user feedback for this.
• You make sure that the software always behaves transparently as well as that - for example - input validation and error handling have been consistently implemented.
• You ensure that security and compliance requirements have been implemented.
• You work actively to improve performance by aligning target values with the specialist departments and conducting tests against these values.
• You work together with the team to create clear documentation for developers, software operations and users.
• You provide input for the test plan and create test cases for manual and automated tests.
• You support in the organization of software releases end-to-end in an agile environment.

Your Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
• Previous working experience in QA, Software development, Software testing or similar roles
• Working with Jira and Confluence is standard for you
• An ISTQB-certificate and knowledge in using Jira Xray is a plus
• You have a high level of social competence – you are a team player but can also push yourself
• Very good organizational skills as well as independent action and solution-oriented thinking characterize you
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and to think critically
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgement
• You can communicate excellently in English
