Senior Software Engineer Infrastructure (m/f/d)

secunet is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead infrastructure efforts within its Software Factory. The Software Factory is secunet’s innovation initiative focused on developing new product classes, comprising a team of motivated engineers working on security-focused shared components and a DevSecOps platform supporting the entire product lifecycle.

This role involves both software and systems engineering to build and maintain IT infrastructure, monitor system performance, and improve automation. Key technologies include Nix, NixOS, Rust, Terraform, Open Telemetry, Grafana, GitLab, and OpenStack.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve infrastructure
• Ensure observability across services
• Design and own Nix build infrastructure
• Coordinate with internal and external teams
• Align strategies with internal IT
• Document work for users and developers
• Ensure security of services using modern tech

Your Profile:

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with on-premises deployments and NixOS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Open Source contributions
• Programming in Rust, Python, Go or similar
• Autonomous work style in a team environment
• German language skills are a plus
