Senior Software Engineer Infrastructure (m/f/d)

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer to lead the infrastructure efforts of secunet’s Software Factory. The Software Factory is secunet’s innovation program, designed to develop new product classes with a focus on security. It consists of a team of highly motivated software engineers working on cutting-edge shared components and a DevSecOps platform supporting the entire product lifecycle. This role combines software and systems engineering to build and operate IT infrastructure, monitor system capacity and performance, and ensure reliability and uptime. We value fast, incremental improvements, with a focus on automation and infrastructure optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve infrastructure
• Ensure observability across services (visualization, alerting, log aggregation)
• Design and own Nix build infrastructure
• Coordinate with teams and partners
• Align with internal IT strategies
• Document work for users and developers
• Maintain security using modern technologies

Your Profile:

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with on-premises deployments and NixOS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Open Source contributions
• Programming in Rust, Python, Go, or similar
• Ability to work autonomously
• German language skills are a plus
