Delivery Hero SE is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale the internal Payments engine across markets. You will focus on core payment features, wallets, and anti-fraud solutions, helping ensure reliable checkout and smooth transactions worldwide.

You will join the Fintech team responsible for Wallet, Payment, and Anti-Fraud systems, contributing to the financial backbone of Delivery Hero and supporting profitability through scalable payment platforms.

• Proven experience designing and delivering software systems in complex business domains at global scale, within fintech or payments.
• Deep backend engineering expertise, with a strong preference for distributed systems.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and deliver highly scalable software systems in complex, global environments used across more than 70 countries, applying secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Lead backend engineering efforts with a focus on distributed systems, using Java, Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit, and drive architectural decisions for features with design patterns, SOLID principles, and Domain-Driven Design
• Own services end-to-end with a “you build it, you run it” mindset, including infrastructure automation and continuous deployment
• Define and apply testing strategies across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end levels
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across multi-region, distributed microservices, and promote reliability, on-call, and observability best practices
• Mentor teammates and evangelize engineering best practices to continuously improve how the team builds and ships software

Big systems. Exciting challenges. Real impact. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll build and scale the internal Payments engine that handles payments for the entire Delivery Hero. Your work keeps checkout reliable and payment failures low for customers across our markets.

Our Fintech team builds Wallet, Payment, and Anti-Fraud solutions worldwide. You’ll focus on the core payment features that manage the lifecycle of different payment flows, ensuring consistency and reliability of payment operations.
