Job summary

Tanso is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (f/m/x) based in Munich to design, build, test and maintain scalable software for our sustainability product. You will own features end-to-end and work in a hybrid setup with a strong focus on quality and impact.

In this role you will drive architecture, tooling and development workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Excellent English and a product mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with TypeScript.
• Startup experience in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong problem-solving with end-to-end ownership and product mindset.
• Excellent English communication (C1 level or higher).
• Based in or willing to relocate to Munich.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship complex, high-impact features across the full stack—from infrastructure to frontend.
• Own projects end-to-end, including architecture, implementation, refactoring, bug fixing, and post-release improvements.
• Improve tooling and workflows to boost engineering velocity and remove bottlenecks.
• Strengthen codebase through thoughtful refactoring and long-term scalability improvements.
• Take ownership of cross-functional initiatives, driving clarity and alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship the company's most complex and high-impact features across the full stack - from infrastructure to frontend.
• Own projects end-to-end (A-Z), including architecture, implementation, refactoring, bug fixing, and post-release improvements.
• Elevate our engineering velocity by improving tooling, infrastructure, and development workflows; proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks or process gaps.
• Continuously strengthen codebase through thoughtful refactoring, restructuring, and long-term scalability improvements.
• Take ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives when needed, driving clarity, alignment, and structured execution across teams.

Your profile

• 5+ years of professional experience with TypeScript.
• Previous experience working in a startup environment.
• Consistent problem-solver with strong end-to-end ownership and a product-focused mindset.
• Strong proficiency in English (C1 level or higher).
• Based in or willing to relocate to Munich.
