Jobbeschreibung

As a Senior Software Engineer in Customs Tech, you will ensure timely delivery of all orders outside the European Union while complying with all customs law requirements. The systems you will build and maintain process articles worth multiple billion Euros every year. You will take part in designing and developing a cutting-edge customs solution that is unique in the market and will give Zalando a competitive advantage as well as allow it to save 10s of millions of Euros in customs fees every year.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
  1. You'll own a resilient system that is capable of processing millions of fashion articles.
  2. You'll drive a whole Software Development Life Cycle, from analysis and implementation to testing and deployment.
  3. You'll lead architecture decisions in close cooperation with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
  4. You'll take part in engineering operational duties and keep the system healthy.
  5. You'll develop our engineering culture and improve engineering excellence in the team.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  1. You have at least 5 years of hands-on development experience in Java and at least some experience with Kotlin.
  2. Experience working with Spring Boot and PostgreSQL.
  3. Experience in microservice architecture and AWS.
  4. You have an understanding of REST and HTTP. Interest in the API-First approach, messaging systems and Kubernetes would be an advantage.
  5. You're passionate about writing clean and modular code that is easy to maintain and scale.
  6. You're fluent in English both orally and written.
