Senior Software Developer with React experience - Cloud Monitoring platform (m/f/d)

Job Description

Business environment

The Monitoring and Analytics Platform (MAP) plays a key role in our middleware organization, focusing on Metrics based monitoring, anomaly detection and Event Management.

Within our department, MAP team’s key products are Sentinel and ARGOS:

• Built on top of 3 opensource industry standards:
  • Prometheus (powerful timeseries engine and database),
  • Thanos (Long term storage and Prometheus clustering),
  • Grafana (dashboard creation/visualization User Interface).
• Providing a fully serviceable monitoring ecosystem, highly scalable and available, to collect metrics from all the layers of our ecosystems, from systems to applications, may it be on the Cloud or in our legacy systems, may it be hosted on on-premise Data Centers or in any other public Cloud providers, and allow users to create their own dashboards and alert on them.

Purpose

You will join a dynamic team with strong technical knowledge and leadership, working in SAFe/Agile, versed in Opensource – from usage to contribution – we do regularly contribute to the Opensource projects we are using, and also happen to drive one in collaboration with other big players of the industry, around our common monitoring needs.

More specifically, through this job position, we are looking for an experienced developer in React and dashboarding, to help drive the development of our OpenSource project Perses, which aims at becoming the official CNCF recommendation for Observability visualization.

Key accountabilities

• Guide and coach other contributors in React / FE
• Participate in the refinement of user requirements for the development of new or improvement of existing software solutions.
• Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
• Propose viable technical and scalable solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
• Develop software according to Amadeus Standards.
• Conduct unit, package and performance tests of the software and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
• Participate in the validation / acceptance phase of the product cycle ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalize the product.
• Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.
• Support the end user in the Production phase by debugging existing software solutions in response to Problem Tracking Records (PTR) and Change Requests (CR) issued from Product Management or Product Definition.

Education

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
• English fluent both written and oral

Technical Skills

• Experience in designing and developing software programs (Typescript) is a must.
• Experience with React is a must.
• Skills in UX design is a plus.
• Experience with Cloud computing (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience with Prometheus or other Time Series Databases is a plus.
• Experience in Front-End components for dashboarding is a plus.
• Experience in contributing to Opensource projects is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation combined with good communication skills.

Experience

• At least 5 years of working experience in a similar role.
