Senior Software Developer - Engine (m/f/d)

We are searching for a highly technical, driven and talented Senior Software Developer to join our Engine Core team. Collaborating with your team and important stakeholders and working from a prioritized backlog, you will lead projects to design, build and support valuable enhancements and new functionality. You will also participate in improving quality, security and performance of our tech stack and tackling important technical debt.

This role reports to the SVP of R&D and works under the guidance of the local technical leader. This is an in-office position based at our Munich, Germany location.

Your role at Aparavi

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design, estimate, implement, iterate, and deliver backend server features to support our vertical market product strategy.
• Collaborate with your team to write maintainable/testable code and address critical technical debt.
• Identify the root cause of complex issues and implement bug fixes.
• Actively maintain a high technical bar and work to improve team processes.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and technical design reviews.
• Rapidly build expertise in our tech stack and a thorough understanding of our products and solutions.
• Work with a flexible and aggressive Agile development process that produces weekly releases.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

What we are looking for

• 3+ years’ experience and proficiency with Java, Node.js, Javascript and React.
• Open and motivated to learn and work with new tech stacks.
• Experienced and comfortable with multi-tasking, context switching and handling competing priorities.
• Model excellent engineering best practices, processes and communication.
• Possesses a growth mindset; receives positive and constructive feedback well.

What we expect from you

• Bachelors in computer science or related field; Masters in computer science preferred.
• 5+ years’ proficiency with C++, with working knowledge of C++20 and object-oriented programming.
• 3+ years’ experience and proficiency in Python.
• Developer-level understanding of relational databases.
