YOUR TASKS - BECOME A GAME CHANGER IN THE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT AREA

• Product Development: Planning, preparing, implementing and documenting experimental work for development, validation studies of nucleic acid‑based kits in the context of microbiology testing for the food and feed industry.
• Conducting literature, technology and market research related to Molecular Diagnostic Methods specifically for microbiological testing of food and feed.
• Functional supervising of technical staff and support of scientists.
• Project Management: Promoting development projects from project idea to implementation of development work, validation and product certification.
• Communicating with internal stakeholders (i.e. product management, kit production, marketing) as well as external stakeholders (e.g. laboratory partners, suppliers, lead customers) in order to create new products tailored to the needs of our customers.
• Support: Working together with product management in strategic decisions to broaden and optimize the product folio for rapid molecular diagnostic methods in food, beverage and other industries.

YOUR PROFIL – WHAT MAKES YOU SPECIAL:

• MSc in a scientific domain, such as molecular biology, food microbiology, microbiology, biology or related areas; or an equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in the field of molecular testing, food microbiology and/or method development
• Expert knowledge in nucleic acid‑based methods in particular DNA extraction, sample preparation, real‑time PCR methods, NGS; ideally in the field of Food Microbiology Food Authenticity and/or GMO during his/her studies and/or professional career
• Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of results
• Works in a proactive manner with a hands‑on mentality and attention to detail
• Able to respond to changing priorities and have excellent organization skills
• Identifies problems and works towards solutions
• Strong team player with good communication skills and technical writing skills
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
