The Chair of Computational Molecular Medicine, led by Prof Julien Gagneur, develops computational approaches to study the genetic basis of gene regulation and its implications in diseases. EPIC is a 10-million Euro project funded for 6 years by the European Research Council under the ERC Synergy grant scheme. It brings together three groups specializing in high-throughput omics assays, synthetic biology, and AI/bioinformatics. The goal is to decipher the complete regulatory code of the eukaryote S. cerevisiae, leveraging evolution across fungal species and designing genes for biotechnological applications. Our team will develop new AI models to analyze multi-modal, multi-species data, unravel complex regulatory instructions, and facilitate gene and cell design.

The position starts on July 1st and is funded until June 30th. Salary is according to the German TV-L E14 scale, including social benefits.
