Position Overview
This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit. Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization, and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.
We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer (m/w/d),
Full-time with an unlimited contract. The position is hybrid within our locations in Erlangen or Berlin.
Your Tasks
- Translate customer requirements into compelling and optimized technical energy storage solution proposals in close cooperation with the EMEA sales teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of energy storage technology platforms and provide sales teams with technical support and product configuration guidance.
- Support the development and management of sales tools and support materials.
- Lead in identifying and evaluating proposals from installation contractors to support system integration and turnkey solutions.
- Lead technical aspects of contract negotiations and support sales in closing deals.
- Capture customer technical requirements to shape product roadmaps.
- Assist in developing designs to meet local codes and standards.
- Identify technical deviations and drive solutions while weighing associated risks.
- Handover technical details of deals to project teams and support initial startup.
- Coordinate product readiness, availability, and pricing with relevant departments.
- Travel throughout EMEA as required.
Your Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a similar technical discipline.
- At least five years of relevant experience in the power industry.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate results effectively.
- Experience with offer management or technical contract review.
- Experience developing technical and financial models (Excel, Matlab).
- Experience with CRM and engineering tools (Salesforce, CAD).
- Knowledge of energy storage, solar, or power generation projects.
- Knowledge of local standards, codes, and regulations.
- Passion, entrepreneurial drive, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; regional language skills are a plus.
