Responsibilities
  • You are responsible for the discipline Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) in the process department in projects for electrolysis plants (green hydrogen (AWE), Chlor-Alkali or HCl-Electrolysis) during Basic and Detail Engineering.
  • In the projects you are the contact person for customers, engineering partners and suppliers for SHE related engineering documents such as hazardous area classification, fire protection philosophy, electrolyzer cell house ventilation concepts, etc.
  • You conduct and moderate risk assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP or LOPA to identify potential safety and environmental risks.
  • As the projects are executed with support from other disciplines and global subsidiaries (e.g. India, USA, Italy), you will coordinate the interfaces with high focus on communication and collaboration.
  • You independently manage, supervise and review services provided by subcontracted engineering offices or institutes domestically and abroad.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and codes & standards changes.
Your profile
  • You have a university degree in chemical engineering, safety engineering or a related field.
  • Your academic background is supplemented by several years of professional experience in the field of occupational safety, health and environment (SHE), ideally in the chemical plant engineering business.
  • You have knowledge of relevant European and international laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Your way of working is structured, you have hands-on mentality, are team oriented and are motivated for taking over ownership.
  • You are proficient in using software related to SHE engineering such as PHA-Pro.
  • Thanks to your intercultural skills, you will work successfully towards the common goal with project team members from different cultures.
  • As our projects are global, the job requires proficiency in English; an additional language is an advantage.
  • You are willing to travel internationally on a regular basis to our customers’ construction sites or to customers’ offices for meetings.
