Job Description:

Your mission

As a Senior Safety Engineer (all genders), you will help design and develop our battery-electric aircraft, ensuring it meets the highest safety and reliability standards. This role involves new design approaches to compliance with regulations and collaboration with regulatory bodies to establish new standards. You will support design, analysis, testing, and compliance activities, providing specialist support to engineering teams including propulsion, systems, and structures.

Your Day-to-Day

• Conduct safety and risk assessments at aircraft and system levels, including FHA, PASA/PSSA, and ASA/SSA.
• Support safety analysis methods like FTA, FMEA, ZSA, PRA, and CMA.
• Develop, manage, and verify safety requirements, collaborating with systems engineering to integrate safety and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with aviation safety standards and support certification efforts with EASA, FAA, and other authorities.
• Develop safety test plans and conduct reliability analyses.
• Prepare safety documentation and serve as the main interface internally and externally.

Your profile

• Engineering degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in aircraft and system safety engineering.
• Background in (hybrid-)electric aviation and aircraft systems.
• Knowledge of safety principles for safety-critical systems (e.g., SAE ARP 4754/4761, Do-178C, DO-254).
• Experience with the full development lifecycle from conceptual design to certification (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25).
• Experience working in an EASA Part 21J Design Organization or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Positive attitude, solution-oriented mindset, self-initiative, eagerness to learn and grow, and passion for aviation and electrification.
