We are looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Risk Controlling Manager with strong technical expertise in financial modeling, stress testing, and ICAAP processes. This role requires a deep understanding of risk methodologies, regulatory requirements, and quantitative analysis to support risk assessment and strategic decision-making. You need to have hands-on experience with Excel-based financial risk modeling. Experience in ZEB consulting methodologies or working in a risk transformation environment will make you stand out.

Your Role
  1. Carry out risk inventory and create an overall risk profile of the bank and the group.
  2. Operational fulfillment of risk management and controlling processes (identification, assessment, control, monitoring, and communication) for the bank and the group.
  3. Development and maintenance of risk indicators and risk early detection systems for financial risks for the bank and the group.
  4. Validation of applied methods in relation to ICAAP and preparation/review of the validation reports.
  5. Monitor the risk situation and risk-bearing capacity, as well as reviewing the limits set for the bank and the group.
  6. Prepare risk reports and presentations to the Head of Risk Controlling and stakeholders upon request for the bank and the group.
  7. Support in developing staff in the Financial Risk Management team.
  8. Report on Risk Management and related initiatives to the organization's management and committees when requested at the bank and group level.
  9. Coordinate and participate in internal/external meetings with auditors, regulators, and other third-party stakeholders, if requested.
  10. Fulfill relevant tasks related to outsourcing agreements for Risk Management processes of subsidiaries of Solaris, when applicable.
  11. Deputy of Risk Controlling Function, including monitoring and communication of material risks, including potential impacts from Sustainability (ESG) Risks.

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial risk management or risk controlling within banking or similar financial institutions.
  • Experience with ZEB methodologies, risk transformation consulting, or working in a strategy/risk advisory firm is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with ICAAP and stress testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of economics, accounting, risk management, mathematics, or statistics.
  • Educational degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of German banking regulations and standards related to risk management.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, with integrity and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; German skills are a strong advantage.
