Payments is a core product for Cash Management and a key growth area in Deutsche Bank’s strategy. To support growth ambitions and remain a leading global player in the competitive payments market, significant investment is being made in Deutsche Bank’s payment infrastructure. These changes must adapt to market dynamics – evolving market infrastructures, client demands, and increasing competition – and address the complexity of the existing infrastructure. The foundation for this investment is a target state architecture for the end-to-end payment process.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer (f/m/x), you will define testing strategies, develop automation frameworks, perform functional and non-functional testing, and propose and implement improvements throughout the testing lifecycle, from specification and design to production rollout and level 3 support.

Your key responsibilities

• Participate in and contribute to test artifacts such as test plans, scenarios, and cases, collaborating with team members (functional, integration, and performance tests)
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
• Develop and implement test automation frameworks and reusable components across various platforms and technologies
• Lead automation efforts, track KPIs, and develop automation scripts
• Create, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Support release preparations, including meeting target dates, preparing reports, and supporting regression cycles

Your skills and experience

• Several years of IT experience with hands-on QA automation or software development
• Solid knowledge of core Java, experience with backend automation, REST, Oracle, JMX; Spring experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of QA processes within SDLC
• Experience with cloud-native development, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), and scalable distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GIT, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
