Grandperspective is dedicated to reducing harmful gas emissions in the chemical industry by developing cutting-edge remote sensing technology. Our work integrates optical spectroscopy, industrial IoT, data science, and machine learning. Based in Berlin Teltow, we require team collaboration in our office at least one day a week, with flexible remote options for the rest of the week.

About the Role

Your job in the software team will be to build robust software for analyzing our spectral measurements in real time and to create tools and infrastructure for data analysis. As a Python Developer, you will design and implement data processing pipelines, API's to interface with the user-facing front-end and internal tools for in-depth data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build robust software for analyzing spectral measurements in real time.
• Create tools and infrastructure for data analysis.
• Design and implement data processing pipelines.
• Develop API's to interface with the user-facing front-end and internal tools.
• Work closely with data scientists to extend analysis algorithms.
• Deploy algorithms to on-prem and on-cloud environments.
• Extend the data-infrastructure for data science research.
• Leverage cloud-computing and machine learning principles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience in a team setting, including 2+ years in a Senior Developer role .
• Initial experience in team leadership or mentorship is a strong plus.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in Python 3.
• C++ is a plus.
• Experience designing complex and distributed systems is a plus.
• Have touchpoints with three or more : pandas, Flask, Plotly / Dash, Google Cloud Platform (e.g. BigQuery), Postgres, Timeseries DB's, Apache Spark or Beam, Terraform, MLFlow, Apache Iceberg.
• Worked with the principles of continuous integration, unit / integration testing, OLAP databases, cloud computing, and data engineering.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Open-minded team player with a passion for agile software development.
• Curiosity and flexibility for new tools and challenges.
• Good team spirit above personal opinions.
• Eager to work in a collaborative team, join efforts, and participate in pair programming.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a startup environment.
• Familiarity with machine learning principles.
