ALTEN Consulting Services GmbH in Germany seeks an AI operations engineer to own the reliable operation, monitoring and continual improvement of AI-powered applications in production. You will resolve incidents across Python backends, APIs and databases, while maintaining code quality via CI/CD and testing.

A strong foundation in cloud-native apps and Docker is essential. You will collaborate with AI engineers, cloud and platform teams, supporting deployments, hypercare phases and operational

Formación

• Completed vocational training, university degree, or equivalent in computer science or software engineering.
• Strong experience in Python backend development with FastAPI or Flask and debugging complex codebases.
• Proficient in REST APIs, PostgreSQL, SQL, data modeling, automated testing and collaborative Git workflows.
• Hands-on with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native applications, monitoring tools and distributed systems; AWS is a plus.
• UnderstandAI-powered applications with LLM integrations, fluent English and strong communication in an international environment.

Responsabilidades

• Take technical ownership for the reliable operation, monitoring and continuous improvement of AI-powered applications in production.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses and resolve issues across Python backends, React frontends, APIs, databases and AI integrations.
• Implement bug fixes, hotfixes and improvements while ensuring high code quality through testing, peer reviews and CI/CD processes.
• Optimize application performance, monitoring, logging, alerting and resilience; automate recurring operational activities.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, cloud teams, platform teams and business stakeholders to support deployments and operational excellence.
• Maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides and runbooks; support knowledge transfer and long-term stability.

• have a completed vocational training, university degree, or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field
• bring strong professional experience in Python backend development, including FastAPI, Flask or comparable frameworks, as well as debugging and maintaining complex codebases
• possess solid expertise in REST APIs, PostgreSQL, SQL, data modeling, automated testing and collaborative Git-based development workflows
• have hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native applications, monitoring tools and distributed systems; AWS experience is considered a strong advantage
• understand AI-powered applications, including LLM integrations, RAG concepts, vector databases and AI service architectures, and are fluent in English with excellent communication skills in an international environment
