NAXCON GmbH is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead IT infrastructure and data center projects in Bonn or Meckenheim. You will drive the full project lifecycle, coordinating customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires 6+ years leading IT projects, strong PM methodology experience, and German at C1 level. Occasional travel up to 60% and 20% mobile work are expected in a dynamic, international environment.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Managerto lead complex IT projects with a strong focus on IT infrastructure and data center environments. The role covers the complete project lifecycle, from initial setup and planning through implementation, monitoring, controlling, and successful completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving project objectives related to schedule, cost, quality, scope, and delivery, while coordinating project teams, customers, suppliers, operational units, and field-service stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects from project setup through completion.
• Ensure compliance with agreed time, cost, quality, and project objectives.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously update detailed project plans and status reports.
• Define, structure, coordinate, and monitor project work packages.
• Coordinate effort estimations and prepare detailed service descriptions.
• Prepare data analyses and management decision documents.
• Act as a central point of contact for customers, operations, suppliers, and field-service teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain effective professional relationships.
• Plan and conduct internal and external workshops, project meetings, and status meetings.
• Identify and coordinate project dependencies.
• Monitor project risks and coordinate appropriate mitigation measures.
• Manage project changes and support structured change management.
• Monitor project costs and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Manage project resources and support resource planning.
• Conduct lessons-learned activities and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
• Ensure structured project documentation, reporting, and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
• Alternatively, completed commercial or recognized IT-related vocational training combined with relevant professional experience.
• Candidates without a university degree should have at least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Certification in a recognized project management standard, at least equivalent to IPMA Level D, or a comparable qualification.
• Basic knowledge of IT Service Management.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent practical experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of established project management standards and methodologies.
• German: C1

Required Professional Experience

• At least 6 years of experience leading IT projects with project budgets exceeding €5 million, with a minimum project allocation of 0.6 FTE.
• At least 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure projects and IT system migration, with a minimum allocation of 0.6 FTE.
• At least 4 years of experience as a project team member in data center or data center infrastructure projects, with a minimum allocation of 0.6 FTE.
• At least 6 years of practical experience as a Project Manager using classical, hybrid, and/or agile project management methodologies.
