About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing consulting services to a dedicated Life Sciences client based in Dusseldorf to support a large multi-year construction project. In collaboration with the client’s project executive, you will focus on moving the project forward to meet agreed upon schedule and budget.
This is not a remote role and does require onsite presence at client campus 3 – 5 days per week.
This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the core project team and external vendors to develop programming, design, and construction documents. Participate in contractor tendering process and manage the project throughout the entire project life cycle.
- Interact directly with the client’s project executive and stakeholders to manage all elements of the project, including the scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates & budget, work plan schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
- Partner with client’s procurement team to define the project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process. Conduct a standard request for proposals, complete bid evaluations, and recommend resources to clients.
- Implement project documentation governance that is aligned with company and client requirements.
- Ensure project data integrity and documentation are accurate, timely, and coordinated.
- Demonstrate ability to identify project threats and develop risk mitigation and contingency plans. Implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex project and provide innovative solutions.
- Manage customer interactions, contractor relationships, and communications to ensure stakeholder alignment and satisfaction.
- Lead all aspects of project, ensuring delivery in accordance with organizational benchmarks.
- Supervise or support other project team members, stepping into the role of Project Executive when required to ensure consistency and excellence in project delivery.
- Drive the application of standard processes and continuous improvement in project management processes.
- Demonstrate proactive leadership by managing project teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and fostering collaboration among regional partners.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project, ensuring seamless integration of technical, financial, and operational aspects.
- This role demands a strategic yet hands‑on leader with strong risk management skills, excellent partner communication, and a focus on delivering projects safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
What You’ll Need
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Germany without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or Manufacturing, with a focus on operational excellence and team leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in leading projects or programs within a regulated manufacturing environment, including planning, execution, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes in FDA‑regulated environments, including design, commissioning, startup, and operational phases.
- Proven track record to lead cross‑functional teams, coordinate efforts across different departments, and ensure project delivery on time and within budget.
- Experience with financial management related to project or operational budgets, resource planning, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of ISO 7 and ISO 8.
- Practical knowledge of C&Q and validation process in regulated environments.
- Previous experience with manufacturing brownfield projects.
- Familiar with Front‑End Loading Best Practices.
- LEED AP certification.
