Job RequirementsAbout the positionThe Senior Project Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the HVDC Product Delivery Group's scope of work for projects, ensuring adherence to cost, time, and technical requirements. This role involves efficient management of resources, collaboration with functional leaders, and accountability for engineering activities, budget management, and quality assurance. The position requires strong leadership and operational judgment to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with established processes.
Responsibilities- Manage and deliver the HVDC PDG scope of work for a project, ensuring adherence to the global time schedule and coherence between engineering and other project functions.
- Conduct regular reviews of project progress, assessing time, cost, quality, and risks.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive project reports as part of governance and reporting processes.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and collaboration with PDG functions.
- Plan and manage technical interfaces with partners, customers, and contractors.
- Accountable for project delivery KPIs such as on-time delivery and budget compliance.
- Provide leadership and support to solution engineers to ensure technical specifications are met.
- Lead and direct the project team in delivering PDG engineering scope and manage day-to-day activities.
- Motivate and empower the project engineering team, providing feedback during performance reviews.
- Assess risks and maintain an updated risk register, conducting risk review meetings as necessary.
- Check design effectiveness against contract requirements and seek cost optimization during design phases.
- Integrate EHS requirements and conduct HAZID sessions, defining corrective actions for unsafe work.
- Support sourcing and procurement in defining supplier lists and reviewing equipment procedures.
- Assist site organization during construction and commissioning stages.
- Organize input data acquisition for O&MM & As built documentation.
- Comply with quality procedures and resolve any non-conformances.
Work ExperienceRequirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading full-turnkey projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing cross-functional teams and diverse portfolios.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time domestically and internationally.
Nice-to-haves- Experience with cross-functional communication and complex problem-solving.
- Ability to influence decision-making and drive teamwork and strategic planning.
- Expertise in using computer mathematical and simulation tools for design activities.
- Strong knowledge of High Voltage substation Europe standards and guidelines.
- Professional Engineering license and willingness to review and seal work.
