If you really want to make a difference – make it with us

Siemens Mobility is a separately managed company of Siemens AG and has been a leading supplier in the field of mobility for over 160 years. Our core business includes rail vehicles, rail automation and electrification solutions, turnkey systems and related services. We have always been very innovative in making traveling faster, safer and more comfortable. Today, we need new solutions to new challenges such as climate change and rising populations worldwide. That's what drives us. That's why we shape mobility with passion, always being one step ahead. Through digitalization, we make infrastructures smart and create opportunities that get us from A to B sustainably and seamlessly. Our over 40,000 employees are pioneers in mobility who help to keep the world moving.

What do you contribute?

  • As project and design lead engineer (m/f/d) you will take over project responsibility within engineering in the "System Integration" department ("Driver's Cab"). You will be responsible for the technical aspects of technology, quality and costs for the concept development and integration of components in the driver's cab of locomotives or cab cars (such as lighting systems, camera systems, sensors etc.).
  • In addition, you will be responsible for the variant management of the driver's cabs (equipment, color and operating variants) within our vehicle platforms.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of the application and implementation of bus systems such as Ethernet TRDP and comparable technologies.
  • In doing so, you will create the standard specification, including all design documents and functional specifications. The integration of your components is also part of your area of responsibility.
  • To this end, you will coordinate closely with all related disciplines (e.g. circuit engineering, control technology, cable routing, bar body design) and suppliers and thus ensure proper implementation and integration in the respective projects.
  • You will accompany the implementation of the technical solution in our plants, for example in Germany, the USA or India.

What do you bring along?

  • You have completed a master's degree, preferably in the field of mechatronics or a comparable field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or rail vehicle technology.
  • You have several years of relevant professional experience in the engineering and project environment of rail vehicle technology and are familiar with the mechanical and electrical integration of components. In particular, knowledge of norms and standards in rail vehicle construction is advantageous.
  • You have experience in coordinating technical tasks as well as in the technical management of project teams at various international locations. Experience in international cooperation is an advantage here.
  • You are familiar in dealing with customers, authorities and suppliers and have relevant experience.
  • You are experienced in the use of 3D CAD systems (ideally Creo Parametric) as well as PLM systems (ideally SAP and Teamcenter).
  • You have a strong analytical ability and can understand complex relationships in rail vehicles.
  • Advanced English skills, German skills on level B2 or higher as well as your willingness to travel domestically and abroad round off your profile.
  • We live the "new normal" – so it goes without saying that you can do a crucial part of your work on the go.
