About the Role

We are looking for an innovative and execution-oriented Product Manager to join our Product Management Team at SAP Supply Chain Management, Operate. In this role as a Product Specialist / Senior Product Specialist, you will be the Product Manager in the Empowered Product Team. You will work closely with User Experience and Engineering/Development, as well as other product teams within our unit. Your role involves shaping and executing a cutting-edge product vision and strategy for SAP's new Capabilities for Maintenance Scheduling and Optimization.

About the Product

MSO (Maintenance Scheduling and Optimization) aims to optimize tactical maintenance scheduling for up to 2 years, offering integrated backlog optimization features including simulation, graphical apps, insights, automatisms, and AI-assisted planning and recommendations. It integrates information from SAP APM (CBM/failure-driven demands) and SAP IBP-MRO (demand forecast/material and stock optimization). SAP MSO creates a packaged, optimized backlog before maintenance demands in ERP, aiding operational scheduling and resource allocation with SAP FSM.

What you'll do

• Collaborate closely with an engineering team, fostering shared ownership and mutual respect.
• Conduct discovery work to understand problem statements and explore solutions.
• Perform user research to validate assumptions and gather insights.
• Refine product backlog items, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
• Work with engineers to break down complex problems.
• Act as the liaison between engineering and stakeholders, including product management, designers, and business units.
• Collaborate with UX designers to meet functional and usability requirements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating progress, risks, and trade-offs.
• Conduct user testing and iterate on features.
• Define acceptance criteria with QA to ensure quality.
• Provide technical feasibility insights to strategic product management.
• Stay updated on relevant technical trends and best practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation.
• Participate in release planning and coordinate with release teams.
• Prioritize technical debt for product health.
• Leverage analytics for data-driven development.
• Address issues reported by customer support.
• Engage with co-innovation and early adopters to ensure product-market fit.

What You Bring:

- Extensive SAP Service and Asset Management knowledge, including Plant Maintenance, Customer Service, and related solutions.

- Deep domain expertise in Planning, Scheduling, and Maintenance Optimization.

- Basic understanding of software architecture and development practices.

- Excellent communication skills in German and English, with experience in user research and stakeholder interaction.

- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead without formal authority.

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in maintenance or manufacturing planning and scheduling.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or business, ideally with maintenance or demand planning background.
