We are seeking a strategic and technically astute Senior Product Manager to lead Exasol’s innovation in the Financial Services Industry (FSI) vertical. You will shape Exasol’s position in the modern data ecosystem, with a specific focus on data lakehouse architecture, advanced analytics, and high-performance computing as they apply to financial institutions.

Your mandate will include aligning Exasol’s capabilities to the nuanced needs of banks, insurance firms, hedge funds, and capital markets institutions within the DACH region. This role demands not only a strong grasp of the sector’s unique regulatory and architectural landscapes but also go-to-market experience, product strategy, and the ability to challenge assumptions around product-market fit.

Key Responsibilities

• FSI Market Leadership : Be the go-to expert on the evolving data needs of banks, insurers, hedge funds, capital investment firms, and high-speed trading environments.
• Product Strategy : Shape the product roadmap for the FSI vertical by integrating regulatory requirements, technology trends (data mesh, real-time analytics, ML / AI), and customer feedback.
• Technology Alignment : Position Exasol’s query engine in the broader data ecosystem across modern architectures such as data lakehouse, cloud-native analytics, and on-prem as well as hybrid data stacks.
• Customer Engagement : Collaborate deeply with C-level executives, CTOs, and data leaders at FSI customers to co-develop impactful solutions and validate product direction.
• Sales Enablement : Equip GTM teams with compelling messaging, playbooks, and training to drive revenue and adoption in target accounts.
• Competitive Positioning : Lead deep market and competitor analyses to inform pricing, packaging, and positioning strategies for FSI use cases.
• Go-to-market : Be the owner for the go-to-market motion and orchestrate a cross-functional team to achieve business goals.
• Industry Evangelism : Represent Exasol at FSI events, industry panels, and analyst briefings as a thought leader on modern financial data platforms.
• Cross-Functional Leadership : Serve as a key liaison between engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success to ensure cohesive execution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Language Requirements : German (native speaking), English.
• 5+ years in product, solution, or data strategy roles in FSI, with direct experience in banks, insurance, hedge funds, capital markets, or trading platforms.
• 5+ years in B2B product management or solution leadership, with proven GTM collaboration.
• Demonstrable success developing and executing solutions for data warehousing, advanced analytics, and / or high-performance analytical workloads.
• Familiarity with lakehouse architecture, analytical query engines, data warehousing, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and AI / ML integration.
• Strong grasp of FSI-specific architecture, data governance, compliance frameworks (e.g., BaFin, GDPR), and security requirements.
• Outstanding communicator and confident public speaker
• Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences
• Analytical mindset with ability to balance product vision and pragmatic execution

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with Exasol or other high-performance analytical query engines
• Knowledge of trade surveillance, portfolio risk modeling, actuarial analysis, or similar FSI analytics use cases
• Experience in highly regulated environments within DACH.

Travel & Location

• Willingness to travel across EMEA for customer engagements, internal meetings, and industry events.
• Flexible remote working, with preference for candidates located in Germany, Spain, or the UK. Employment in other EMEA countries will be through an Employer of Record.
