Your mission
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for taking a key role in the development of our innovative products.
In your role, you take responsibility for all technical aspects of the product lifecycle of a first-of-it’s kind product. You’ll work closely with internal R&D, product management, quality, and test teams, while coordinating with external partners to shape a scalable, compliant, and reliable product.
Drive Product & Systems Engineering
- Define the work breakdown structure and scope of development efforts, including prioritization of work packages.
- Own and maintain specifications, requirements, and technical documentation, ensuring consistency throughout the development cycle.
- Support program management in planning, budgeting, and roadmap creation by defining technical priorities.
- Collaborate with test engineers to plan and coordinate integration and verification activities.
- Accompany and steer the technical development process at our external development partner.
Shape Feature Development & Market Adaptation
- Translate feedback from users, product teams, and service departments into design improvements and product features.
- Coordinate the integration of new features—developed in-house—into future hardware revisions and software updates.
- Support market expansion by addressing regulatory requirements in collaboration with the quality teams.
Transfer to Scalable Production
- Oversee the technology transfer of device production from the prototyping department to scaled manufacturing within the development partner’s facilities.
- Define and optimize batch sizes, production flows, and deployment strategies in line with scale-up needs.
Your profile
- A degree in Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical discipline.
- 4+ years of experience as a product or systems engineer, ideally in medical devices, lab automation, or special machinery.
- Proven experience in bringing complex, interdisciplinary products from prototype to production.
- Strong ability to coordinate across teams and manage input from diverse stakeholders (engineering, quality, product, service, etc.).
- A structured, hands-on approach with strong documentation and analytical skills.
- Experienced in requirements management, change control, and documentation management.
- Familiarity with risk management, relevant regulatory requirements and standards (e.g. IEC 61010 or similar) is beneficial.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment, with a willingness to shape processes.
- Passion for innovative products and the work in an interdisciplinary team.
