Kleinanzeigen is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Growth domain in Berlin. You will shape experiences that drive user growth, engagement, and retention across the marketplace, working with PMs, engineers, researchers, and data scientists.

In this hybrid role, you’ll lead discovery, prototype AI-powered interactions, and design end-to-end experiences from concept to production, ensuring accessibility and a trustworthy user journey.

Job Description

As a Senior Product Designer in our Growth domain, you will shape experiences that drive user growth, engagement, and retention across Kleinanzeigen, helping millions of users stay connected, discover relevant opportunities, and actively participate in our marketplace.

As part of the team, you will play a key role in bringing together AI-driven activities and relevant interactions around trading and searching. You will also shape notification experiences that help users return to Kleinanzeigen and engage with the platform in meaningful ways.

You'll own design across the entire product development lifecycle: From early discovery and problem framing to concept development, prototyping, delivery, and continuous iteration. Working closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data specialists, you'll create intuitive, personalised, and impactful experiences that support sustainable user growth.

As part of the broader Product Design team, you'll regularly exchange ideas, participate in design reviews, and contribute to a strong, collaborative design culture across the organisation.

The Growth domain focuses on attracting, engaging, and retaining users, ensuring Kleinanzeigen remains relevant throughout their buying and selling journeys. Your work will directly influence how users discover opportunities, return to the platform, and stay active, strengthening user retention, marketplace activity, and long-term growth.

This is a hybrid role that combines remote work with regular presence at our Berlin-Charlottenburg office.

Job requirements

What You Bring

• Several years of experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer, or Interaction Designer, ideally working on consumer-facing digital products in an agile environment.
• Strong conceptual and interaction design skills, with the ability to turn complex systems, including AI-powered features, into simple, intuitive, and trustworthy user experiences.
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered design tools to accelerate ideation, explore concepts, create interactive prototypes, and iterate quickly. Curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI technologies are essential.
• A strong eye for visual design and experience working with design systems, combined with the ability to translate ideas into functional prototypes or make smaller improvements directly in code using AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and data-informed experimentation, using qualitative and quantitative insights to validate solutions and drive measurable improvements in engagement and retention.
• A collaborative, hands-on mindset, comfortable sharing work early, embracing feedback, and working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints while adapting to evolving technologies, changing priorities, and new ways of working.
• Fluency in German and English, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration and direct communication with users during research and testing.

• Design intelligent, personalised, and trustworthy user experiences, including AI-driven interactions and notification journeys, while ensuring transparency, user control, accessibility, and consistency.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Data specialists to turn insights into measurable improvements, using experimentation, usability testing, and growth metrics to continuously optimise the user experience.
• Contribute to scalable design systems and a collaborative design culture, sharing knowledge, exploring emerging AI design practices, and helping evolve how we design and build products at Kleinanzeigen.
