Responsibilities
- Support the Process Engineering team as a Senior Process Technician in our Paintshop, focusing on process efficiency projects, developing and optimizing paint manufacturing processes, creating new process standards, designing efficient workflows, and carrying out technical implementations while sharing your expertise.
- Manage projects independently or as part of a core team to optimize workflows, implement new standards, manage equipment changes, and support new product integration, ensuring safe and ergonomic workplaces for production employees.
- Identify opportunity areas, run process analytical reports, troubleshoot complex process disruptions, and implement sustainable countermeasures and process optimizations, following up on their effectiveness.
- Support the development of standard workflows with Process Engineers, running optimization trials from commissioning to launch.
- Create purchase orders, manage new paint equipment testing, and communicate with suppliers regarding new processes and materials.
- Develop process efficiency dashboards and implement lean manufacturing standards, organizing and leading training sessions for colleagues.
- Lead and support Process Engineering tasks, maintaining effective communication with suppliers, manufacturing, SIE, and SQE to standardize and stabilize workflows.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, bringing new ideas to enhance process quality, cost savings, and energy efficiency.
- Support the optimization of current paint systems, equipment, tooling, and workflows within the Paintshop, leveraging your extensive experience.
You will be independently and proactively organized in your daily workflow, working closely with your team to achieve milestones and boost morale and commitment.
Requirements
- A safety mindset, prioritizing safety for yourself and your team.
- Complete apprenticeship as an automotive painter or mechatronics technician with at least 5 years of professional experience in the OEM industry.
- Strong experience with OEM automotive paint processes, DURR paint equipment, process parameter tuning, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of paint processes, automation, and quality analysis software.
- Strong understanding of Quality Core Tools, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- An educational background that supports understanding paint-specific terminology is highly recommended.
- Proficiency in German and English, both spoken and written.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including creating dynamic reports and dashboards.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment with new technologies and drive innovative improvements.
- Proactiveness and willingness to work on different shifts and weekends, including domestic and international travel.
