The Amazon EU Sortation Center Process Engineering (PE) Team is seeking a proven technical leader with extensive experience in leading continuous improvement projects, applying planning and engineering principles to operations.

This role involves developing and implementing process improvement initiatives within the logistics and distribution industry. As a Senior PE, you will collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders, including operations, network planning, labor planning, and service performance, to design and improve our Sort Centers' flow processes, challenging existing operational norms.

• UTR Flow continuous improvement, tech integration, and implementation.
• Applying engineering principles to develop processes and enhance operations.
• Building productive relationships across organizations to achieve business objectives.
• Managing complex, quick-turn projects with sound business judgment.
• Defining business models to monitor improvements over time.
• Assessing opportunities for process improvement and transformation, partnering with process owners and stakeholders to scope, define problems, and structure projects and teams.
• Training, coaching, and mentoring field Operations teams to leverage tools and systems effectively.

Successful candidates will be strong leaders with excellent prioritization, communication, and a proven track record of delivering results. You should be capable of creating and presenting documentation to senior executives and aligning your roadmap with Amazon’s strategic goals. Experience in data analysis, root cause analysis, implementing long-term solutions, and leading teams with advanced analytical skills is required.

Willingness to travel up to 30% is expected.

A day in the life

Your role will include observing and auditing to identify process enhancements, recommending changes, and managing stakeholder projects to implement new processes. You will be based at a site, responsible for improving operational efficiency, and may analyze other sites as needed. Sharing ideas across the EU network and using data to drive improvements will be key components of your role.

About the team

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is vital to Amazon’s delivery speed. Using various transport modes and advanced sortation centers, the team ensures maximum efficiency. They leverage data for decision-making, prioritize safety, and strive for innovation and efficiency in package delivery.

Basic qualifications

• University degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics, or a technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in supply chain, transportation, project management, or management consulting.
• Experience with project management and handling multiple projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
• Proficiency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• MBA from an accredited university.
• Management experience in logistics, distribution, or transportation operations.
• Experience developing or implementing automation and material handling solutions.
• Familiarity with optimization tools (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi) and simulation modeling (e.g., Flexsim, Arena).
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
• Supporting tools experience (e.g., Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, MS Access).
