Qualifikationen

• Ph.D. in Power Electronics with a minimum of 2 years post-graduate R&D or an M.Sc. with 10+ years in low voltage power R&D.
• Proven portfolio with patents, peer-reviewed publications, or widely-adopted open-source projects.
• Experience in compact low-voltage, high-current power delivery solutions (>100 A, high power density).
• Deep expertise in multi-stage power supply design: topologies, digital/analog control loops, magnetics, and packaging.
• Fluent in English with excellent technical documentation and presentation skills.

Huawei's Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.

Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within Huawei Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Your mission

• Selection and optimization of power topologies based on requirements and specifications.
• Develop simulation models to accurately estimate the losses of highly-compact power supply modules.
• Propose new concepts and patents to be used in DC-DC converters. Focus on power topologies, magnetic components, and control schemes.
• Design of advanced control and modulation schemes for DC-DC converters.
• Production of insight reports about DC-DC converter topologies, control, and magnetic components for DC-DC converters
• Feasibility analysis of new cutting-edge concepts related to DC-DC converters.
• Build and maintain cooperation with industrial institutions and universities in Europe.

Your areas of expertise

• (Required) Ph.D. in Power Electronics (or related field) with a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate R&D experience or M.Sc. with several years (10+) of advanced R&D experience in world-class corporate or research institutes within the low voltage power domain.
• Demonstrated technical portfolio with granted patents, peer-reviewed publications (e.g., IEEE, APEC, PCIM), or widely-adopted open-source projects.
• Proven R&D track record on compact low-voltage(95%), high-current (>100A), high power density power delivery solutions.
• Deep expertise in multi-stage power supply design, encompassing advanced topologies, digital/analog control loops, integrated/planar magnetics, and advanced packaging techniques.
• Professional fluency in English with excellent technical documentation and presentation skills.
