THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

As part of the Propositions Customer Experience Department, we seek a dynamic and experienced product professional for the role of Senior Principal Product Manager for the Sports Customer Experience. This position is an Individual Contributor role with seniority equivalent to a Head of Product.

The department is responsible for creating remarkable shopping experiences tailored to customer needs across Zalando’s assortment. The Senior Principal Product Manager for Sports CX will oversee the end-to-end experience across all touchpoints, driving innovation to increase customer interest and loyalty, and enabling successful brand partnerships. Collaboration with Design, Engineering, and stakeholders across the company is essential.

This role requires a visionary leader and expert in customer-facing product development to set the product strategy and vision aligned with Zalando Group goals, and to deliver an actionable roadmap. A strong background in (Sports/Fashion) e-commerce and a passion for seamless, engaging user experiences are ideal.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO
  • Develop a comprehensive product strategy & vision (3-5 years) aligned with business goals, focusing on experience elevation and technology-driven innovation.
  • Create and maintain an actionable product roadmap prioritizing features and initiatives.
  • Lead the entire product development lifecycle, from discovery to execution, including problem definition, opportunity sizing, solution identification, design, development, testing, and delivery.
  • Act as a thought leader for Sports Customer Experience within internal teams and leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with commercial stakeholders and brand partners to gather requirements, conduct market research, and define product specs.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment, obtain buy-in, and drive successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify improvements, optimize products, and report on strategy effectiveness.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including senior leadership, sharing updates, findings, and business cases.
