Zusammenfassung

Boerse Stuttgart Digital is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to operate and advance our Internal Developer Platform, ensuring reliability, security, and scalable operations in a regulated crypto environment.

You will implement SRE practices, harmonize the toolchain, and mentor teams while maintaining critical data stores and guiding on-prem to AWS migration. A strong automation mindset is essential for success.

Within Platform Engineering, we provide the reliable and scalable foundation on which our product and engineering teams build. Boerse Stuttgart Digital operates institutional and retail brokerage, the BSDEX crypto exchange, and its own in-house custody solution – all within the governance framework of a leading exchange group. Having recently launched our Internal Developer Platform, we are now looking to establish it as a trusted production platform across Boerse Stuttgart Digital. As Senior Platform Engineer (gn), you will operate and further develop the platform, introduce platform engineering and SRE practices, harmonize our toolchain, and replace ad-hoc operations with reliable, automated, and well-documented processes. You will take hands-on responsibility for critical systems while helping us raise our engineering standards for the future.

Your Tasks

• Platform Operations: Run our production IDP and the services on it, owning reliability, availability, and performance in a regulated crypto environment.
• SRE Practices: Introduce SRE principles such as SLOs, observability, incident response, and blameless post-mortems, and cut manual toil through automation.
• Toolchain Harmonisation: Consolidate and standardize our toolchain so teams have clear, paved paths instead of one-off solutions.
• Engineering Excellence: Help move the team from unstructured operations to documented, repeatable engineering, and mentor colleagues along the way.
• Data Layer Operations: Keep our databases (MS SQL Server on Linux and PostgreSQL) reliable, performant, and recoverable.
• Secure Modernisation: Support our on-premise to AWS journey and apply security hardening and audit-ready documentation expected under DORA and MaRisk.

What You Bring to the Table

• Platform & SRE Experience: Several years of hands-on experience operating a developer platform or production infrastructure at scale, with a proven ability to bring reliability and structure to production environments.
• Regulated Environments: Experience in financial services or another regulated, high-availability environment, ideally with exposure to DORA and MaRisk.
• Linux Foundation: Deep, hands-on Linux expertise from the CLI, including internals, systemd, hardening, and troubleshooting. LPIC-2/3, RHCE/RHCSA, LFCS/LFCE, or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
• Automation & Containers: Fluent scripting in Bash and/or Python, combined with solid hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Security Mindset: A security-first approach to everything you build and operate; comfort with hardening standards such as CIS.
• Language Skills: Excellent English skills, both written and spoken; fluent German is a strong plus.

• Databases: Experience operating MS SQL Server on Linux and/or PostgreSQL 13+ in production environments, with a focus on high availability, backup and recovery, performance tuning, replication, and failover.
• Cloud & Migration: On-premise to AWS migrations and infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Platform Toolchain: Operating tools such as Tyk, Keycloak, SaltStack, HAProxy, Rancher, Argo CD, and Prometheus, with strong monitoring and alerting.
• Infrastructure & Networking: Experience withvCenter and NSX-T, Okta administration, data-centre capacity management, and VPN and inter-site networking.
